Slow Flow & Meditation for International Day of Yoga

For the 11th annual International Day of Yoga (IDY), atmosphere yoga is answering the call from Yogis for Palestine and Tejal Yoga to embody yoga in the service of Palestinian liberation.

By signing up for this class you are pledging to donate to the Al Jawad School in Gaza: GoFundMe | PayPal

What to expect

Alexia and Rachelle of atmosphere yoga will offer a 60-minute yoga practice hosted on Zoom. It will include a 45-minute slow asana flow with guided meditation. The remaining time can be used for community reflection and integration.

Alexia will open the practice with a solidarity statement, and guide students through a body scan to help them acknowledge the ways their body is holding grief for the suffering of Palestinians and all oppressed peoples.

The asana sequence will be co-taught by Alexia and Rachelle. We will cue students to ground into the earth and its wisdom, and guide them through gentle heart opening movements to tap into their innate compassion. This practice can be done from a mat or chair!

Rachelle will close the practice with a meditation for visualizing a better, safer world for all loved ones and all peoples, a practice learned from Zabie Yamazaki.
