Alexia
she / they
Alexia is a certified accessible yoga teacher who prioritizes bodily awareness and autonomy in her classes. She is a creative soul who has practiced yoga for over 10 years.
Alexia started her teaching journey in 2023 after the unexpected death of a family member. In her grief, Alexia started experiencing panic attacks and intense chronic pain in her hips and low back. Yoga became a refuge for her to sit with this pain, to feel her grief in all the ways it manifested: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Yoga cannot “cure” grief — nothing can. But, yoga can create space for you to examine your suffering and ease it little by little. While Alexia had toyed with the idea of teaching for a long time, this experience cemented in her the desire to teach yoga (beyond a commercialized physical practice) and make it accessible to others living with pain. Alexia hopes that her classes can be a soft place to land, a space of gentle guidance where you can ground into yourself and find hope.
